Are you a Fed-Ex Driver or a part time worker?

Another great question ready for another powerful answer…

“I’ve been doing summer sales for 6 years now but in the winter I work at Sundance as a Cat Driver grooming the slopes. I put myself in the Fed-Ex mans shoes. I wonder if me working at Sundance in the winters is interfering with APX? .. Does that make sense..? Well I was wondering if you could spare a few minutes and give me your opinion please.”

The Fed-Ex man he is referring to is the story of a Fed-Ex Driver who was Fed-Ex by day and Financial Planner by night.

His problem though was clear because no one was was buying from him even though he had the nice suit, the nice bag, the great products.

Why wasn’t he selling any financial products or services?

Are you a Fed-Ex Driver in a Suit or are you a Powerful Financial Planner?

The answer…Because in his mind he was a Fed-Ex Driver in a nice suit.

The beliefs we have about ourselves are one of the most powerful ‘behavioral drivers.’

If this man doesn’t believe within him self that he is a powerful life-changing financial planner that has real value to offer others…how are other people supposed to recognize him as the authority figure?

Of course they wouldn’t hence they wouldn’t pay him any money and obviously he stays broke as a Fed-Ex Driver.

Now to answer this question…

Is your part time job interfering with you being able to  become a top earning salesman?

My questions to you are:

“What do YOU believe about yourself when you are working in your part time job?”

“What do you think about when you are working your part time job?”

If you believe and know you are a powerful salesman who works a part-time job then NO, your part-time job is probably not affecting your sales.

If you are a salesman with a weak belief system with a part-time job then yes, your part time job is a major distraction.

WHY?

Because an individual who has a bullet-proof mentality can be put in any situation and still be ‘untouchable.’

My friend, you either believe or you don’t. There is no faking it. You either are, or you aren’t.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

BELIEFS AND RESULTS…

1.  Find the greatest salesmen in the world and study them. Find the greatest in your organization and study them.

Why do they do what they do? How do they think? Behave? Speak?

Until you pay the price that they paid…you’ll continue to get the results that you gett…mediocre to good at best…and good is the enemy of GREAT! and only the ‘GREATS’ make the real big money…no matter what industry you are in.

2. Use the Law of Repetition relentlessly in your favor.

“We learn to do by doing.” In order to become the 200 plus or 250 plus in your industry, you MUST BELIEVE as the 200 or 250 club does and the you must BEHAVE like they do.

Answer these questions…

What would your life look like if you had beliefs like the Man of Steel?

BELIEFS

What type of empowering beliefs must I have in order to hit 200-250 sales this year?

What must I believe about myself, my abilities, my services and my products in order to accomplish the 200-250 mark this year?

What type of results would I receive if I believed this way?

How would my actions and results changed if I held tightly to this empowering belief and fostered it for the next 6-12 months?

How many more sales would I get if I believed this way?

What type of thoughts and words must I use each day, each hour and each minute to foster empowering beliefs about being a powerful life-changing salesman?

Can you see how changing your beliefs would drastically change your behavior which then bring about completely different results?

RESULTS

Answer these questions…

What does 200-250 sales looks like?

What is the exact amount of money I will make when I attain this goal?

How many sales a day, a week, a month must I make to hit this goal?

How long must I take on each sale to maximize my time in hitting 200-250 sales?

What does 200-250 look like, feel like, smell like, taste like and look like?

Do I really want 200-250 sales? Or only if it’s easy or I get lucky?

Am I fully committed to it with a NO MATTER WHAT attitude?

There is no doubt YOU can hit your goal IF you’re willing to make changes and pay the price.

Finally, in reaching for 200-250 sales this year, you either want it or you don’t.

There is no middle ground because the price to pay to become the person that will crush that goal is steep. No matter how gifted or ‘natural’ you are, it is still an acquired skill that can be learned…but you either truly want it OR you don’t.

Ironically when you really want something, you’ll figure out how to get it. You’ll learn how to get it. You’ll find people to help you get it. Obtaining the goal becomes a quest rather than a burden.

There is no accidentally reaching it without making serious commitments to small and simple steps each day that help you become that top guy.

If you want it, go get it…I’m 100% certain it can be done.

I hosted a training call Saturday morning called “Climbing the Mountain.” It was POWERFUL!

You know a training is good when you are giving the training and you are learning and growing just as much if not more than anyone else.

One of my group friends was super excited to be on the call. This was her email to me after she missed it.

“OK, I missed the call.  I can’t believe I missed the call.  I registered for the call and all week I have been looking forward to the call;  I mean telling people about the call and genuinely excited about the call—and I missed it.  How do I stop beating myself up about that and increase my excitement about being in the program and go forward.  I know, if it was for me in that moment, I would have been there.  How do you handle disappointments like this or do you let yourself become disappointed like this?  Need your Help!”

Audri

Here’s my answer to her question….

Perspective

How often do you miss appointments, calls, trainings etc. If it’s a habit and  you miss more often than not then you have a problem.

Your system for calendering things or the lack thereof should be thrown in the trash and you better figure that out or it will end up costing you more than you’ll ever know.

I’m not just talking about money either. The cost of missing important meetings, phone calls and family time cannot always be measured but the effect can be devastating.

If missing the webinar for my friend was a fluke for example:

Her alarm was set for PM instead of AM…

Her cell phone alarm didn’t go off…

She didn’t schedule it when 99% of the time she schedules everything…

Then it was a fluke. All good. Seriously…it’s all good. It happens.

It’s happened to me numerous times and it’s no fun.

The worst thing you can do in a fluke situation is to get mad and beat yourself up about it.

Figure out what went wrong, course correct…and move forward…quickly.

Now, if you’re habitually doing this (missing meetings, missing your kids games, or kid’s karate tests or training calls, you’ve got a problem…a serious problem.

The answer: Do a serious fix it and correct it.

Disappointments come all the time. BUT, it’s how we deal with them. Dwelling on the negative is for suckers.

The only time you are allowed to dwell on the negative is when you are constructively and positively fixing it to turn it from a negative to a positive.

In retrospect, that’s how some of the best things in life are created.

Someone creates something…then someone comes along and doesn’t like it and then makes it better.

The Creators on this planet keep creating value that the world becomes a better place because someone’s negative was turned into a positive.

A couple tips for sickening increased and greater productivity.

1. SCHEDULE THINGS ON A CALENDAR.

Whether you use an old-school day planner, a piece of paper, a cell phone synced to Outlook…it doesn’t matter. The point is this: You must have some type of scheduler.

The danger is in NOT using a schedule and NOT calendaring things. There is too much in today’s world to distract us.

Attention and Time is what everyone wants from us.

If you’re not using a calendar to schedule appointments, reminders, meetings, more importantly date night, family time, time with the kids. YOU’RE LOSING OUT BIG TIME!

Think of the most successful people and companies. They have a clear agenda of what they want, where they are going and they create the plan to get there.

The more planned and prepared you are…the more you set yourself up for success as well as being able to handle the distractions and deal with the unexpected fires.

Of course you can break plans and be spontaneous and do things that are NOT on the plan…but don’t fool yourself into thinking you can remember every single thing going on in your life.

2. WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING YOU SAY YOU’RE GOING TO DO

How many times do you tell people “I’ll call you…yeah let’s hook up for lunch.”

If you don’t schedule or write it down..you’re simply setting yourself up to be a liar.

Not being a person of your word is so detrimental to not only your business, but to your charcter, your family and your legacy.

Don’t do it. It’s not worth it.

If you have a big family with lots of kids and you don’t have a calendar of little league games, school plays and parent teacher confernce…yep, something’s gonna give.

Although our human brains can do incredible things, we haven’t learned how to tap into it at full capacity. You will forget some things without a calendar or schedule.

If you are an entrepreneur and you don’t have scheduled out on your weekly or monthly calendar specifically when you are going to build your business, attend trainings, read and study, make phone calls etc…you’re losing money and business and you will fail.

Failure in context is not a single event. It is a build up of events that takes place or events that do not take place.

I’m the biggest advocated for failing early and failing often because that means you’re doing something.

But in this context without a calendar or schedule of things written down…you will NOT reach your goals, you’ll be less effective and you’ll be less productive.

The more value you create for people the more you will depended upon.

That is a great thing!

For the Creators in this world, our time is spent producing and creating maximum value for other people that we must learn how to manage our time wisely so as to be able to CREATE MAXIMUM VALUE and still give our most precious time to the ones we love the most.

For me, it’s me wife, my two boys, my family, my church and my friends. After them it turns to my community, my state and then this country.

Ultimately I am committed to making a difference on an international level.

I want the world to be a better place because I lived on it.

“No success outside the home can compensate for failure in the home.” David O. Mckay

If we can’t be good with the small things…we certainly won’t be great with the big things.

Become a wiser steward over what you currently have and I promise you’ll receive more!

You can do it!
