Are you a Fed-Ex Driver or a part time worker?

Another great question ready for another powerful answer…

“I’ve been doing summer sales for 6 years now but in the winter I work at Sundance as a Cat Driver grooming the slopes. I put myself in the Fed-Ex mans shoes. I wonder if me working at Sundance in the winters is interfering with APX? .. Does that make sense..? Well I was wondering if you could spare a few minutes and give me your opinion please.”

The Fed-Ex man he is referring to is the story of a Fed-Ex Driver who was Fed-Ex by day and Financial Planner by night.

His problem though was clear because no one was was buying from him even though he had the nice suit, the nice bag, the great products.

Why wasn’t he selling any financial products or services?

Are you a Fed-Ex Driver in a Suit or are you a Powerful Financial Planner?

The answer…Because in his mind he was a Fed-Ex Driver in a nice suit.

The beliefs we have about ourselves are one of the most powerful ‘behavioral drivers.’

If this man doesn’t believe within him self that he is a powerful life-changing financial planner that has real value to offer others…how are other people supposed to recognize him as the authority figure?

Of course they wouldn’t hence they wouldn’t pay him any money and obviously he stays broke as a Fed-Ex Driver.

Now to answer this question…

Is your part time job interfering with you being able to  become a top earning salesman?

My questions to you are:

“What do YOU believe about yourself when you are working in your part time job?”

“What do you think about when you are working your part time job?”

If you believe and know you are a powerful salesman who works a part-time job then NO, your part-time job is probably not affecting your sales.

If you are a salesman with a weak belief system with a part-time job then yes, your part time job is a major distraction.

WHY?

Because an individual who has a bullet-proof mentality can be put in any situation and still be ‘untouchable.’

My friend, you either believe or you don’t. There is no faking it. You either are, or you aren’t.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

BELIEFS AND RESULTS…

1.  Find the greatest salesmen in the world and study them. Find the greatest in your organization and study them.

Why do they do what they do? How do they think? Behave? Speak?

Until you pay the price that they paid…you’ll continue to get the results that you gett…mediocre to good at best…and good is the enemy of GREAT! and only the ‘GREATS’ make the real big money…no matter what industry you are in.

2. Use the Law of Repetition relentlessly in your favor.

“We learn to do by doing.” In order to become the 200 plus or 250 plus in your industry, you MUST BELIEVE as the 200 or 250 club does and the you must BEHAVE like they do.

Answer these questions…

What would your life look like if you had beliefs like the Man of Steel?

BELIEFS

What type of empowering beliefs must I have in order to hit 200-250 sales this year?

What must I believe about myself, my abilities, my services and my products in order to accomplish the 200-250 mark this year?

What type of results would I receive if I believed this way?

How would my actions and results changed if I held tightly to this empowering belief and fostered it for the next 6-12 months?

How many more sales would I get if I believed this way?

What type of thoughts and words must I use each day, each hour and each minute to foster empowering beliefs about being a powerful life-changing salesman?

Can you see how changing your beliefs would drastically change your behavior which then bring about completely different results?

RESULTS

Answer these questions…

What does 200-250 sales looks like?

What is the exact amount of money I will make when I attain this goal?

How many sales a day, a week, a month must I make to hit this goal?

How long must I take on each sale to maximize my time in hitting 200-250 sales?

What does 200-250 look like, feel like, smell like, taste like and look like?

Do I really want 200-250 sales? Or only if it’s easy or I get lucky?

Am I fully committed to it with a NO MATTER WHAT attitude?

There is no doubt YOU can hit your goal IF you’re willing to make changes and pay the price.

Finally, in reaching for 200-250 sales this year, you either want it or you don’t.

There is no middle ground because the price to pay to become the person that will crush that goal is steep. No matter how gifted or ‘natural’ you are, it is still an acquired skill that can be learned…but you either truly want it OR you don’t.

Ironically when you really want something, you’ll figure out how to get it. You’ll learn how to get it. You’ll find people to help you get it. Obtaining the goal becomes a quest rather than a burden.

There is no accidentally reaching it without making serious commitments to small and simple steps each day that help you become that top guy.

If you want it, go get it…I’m 100% certain it can be done.

You’ve gotta watch this video…it’s part II of our Miami South Beach Trip. Kimball Roundy and myself went into some very deep conversations about life.

I think about individuals who finally just give in to the belief and circumstance that life won’t get any better…
To those who are single parents and are struggling to raise your kids on your own…
To the marketers who are brand new in the industry who are fighting for that dream…
To the young students still in school with visions of what could be…
I say to you who struggle in discouragement, depression and living in that rut of despair…
I say hold on just a little longer. Keep the faith, keep believing and trust that prosperity really is available.

If you need to lean on me for a while then so be it. I promise you, the light will come, better days will arrive and the night will soon pass you by.

All the challenges and struggles in your life…

WHAT IF THEY WERE DESIGNED FOR A HIGHER PURPOSE IN YOUR LIFE’S MISSION?

Enjoy this video of Miami South Beach Part II. Listen not only with your ears, but with your heart.

Share this on Facebook, Retweet it and please leave a comment for me! Thank you and Keep Moving Forward.

I

watched Die Hard with Bruce Willis when it first came out. It was Christmas Break and we were at the dollar theater to watch this action-packed thriller?

Have you seen Die Hard…or maybe the other movies in the series which by the way my favorite was the last one…Live Free Die Hard!

Die Hard shows how bad people took people hostage etc.

Ok this isn’t about Bruce Willis…this is about you.

Have you ever been held hostage by other people?

Let me explain.

I have a course that I have been taking people through called Goal Setting Goal Getting. We have a blog and it was built by a developer (we’ll call him John Gay-we’ll protect his name).

The developer changed his mind during the course and took the site down without talking with me and without even communicating anything to me…

He has demanded money and resources that were not part of the original agreement. (sounds like Die Hard right?)

So he has my blog hostage…(evil forces in the movie took over the building)

Hmmm, this seriously bites! (at least I can spend Christmas with my family unlike the people in the movie)

Lesson learned though.

Here is what I have learned by being held hostage by John Gay (again name has been changed.)

Lesson #1

Focus on what you can control

I attempted negotiations with Mr. Gay.

He ignored them and or took a long time (maybe I should have called the FBI). So instead of being angry about it (which I was for a little bit because his holding my blog and clients hostage stopped our progression and movement and momentum) I chose to focus on what I can control.

I emailed my clients, contacted another developer, looked at our options and here I am writing about it. There are some things (ok, a lot of things) that we cannot control in life.

What is it like when you put your focus on things that you cannot control? Yep, not very good. So stop focusing on things you cannot control and focus on what you can control.

A great book and example of this is a book called “Man’s Search For Meaning.” Written by Victor Frankl a survivor of the Holocaust, he says basically that people can do all types of cruel and mean things to you (like John Gay has done to us) but in the end they can NEVER take our ability to chose how we react. They can never take away our ability to choose.

Lesson #2

Be RESOURCEFUL

The moment you take your focus off of the uncontrollable things and put your focus on the things YOU CAN control, something magical happens in your mind and in your BEING!

You become more resourceful. You feel better. When you feel better you think and work better. When you feel, think and work better…voila…you get better results. It’s really no secret at all is it?

So if you are seriously unable to get your site back (like me) or whatever situation you are facing…get super ultra resourceful and just go to work!

The longer you stay focused on what you cannot control (John Gay not responding to my emails and text messages and voicemails) the longer you stay angry, less resourceful and no results (like me for a while until I snapped out of it)

Lesson #3

Remember What Got You Where You Are

When we focus on things that don’t matter or that we can’t control we forget one crucially important thing…hard work and focusing on a definite purpose can get us out of most jams.

I talk so much about becoming a CREATOR, what my great friend Les McGuire called a PRODUCER. Creators always

In this Movie he is a true Creator/Producer-always finding a way to make things happen. Are you always seeking solutions or are you focused on the obstacle? Highly Recommend the Movie STAR TREK!

look for solutions.

It’s not like one thing (my blog, my site etc.) is going to stop me. What are you letting stop you from progressing, prospering and moving forward.

I started researching relentlessly how I could get my site back up.

Hard work and going all out in all that you do will bring crazy results. Sitting and crying over spilled milk…yep, only gets your carpet and floor stinking like milk.

So what’s holding you hostage today?

Bitter feelings towards other people? Grudges? Not knowing how to get started?

Whatever other lame reason or excuse is holding you hostage…stop it now!

We should never let our past hold us hostage. We should NEVER let anything hold us hostage because the fact is this…PROSPERITY is within the grasp and reach of every person.

Move forward, focus on what you can control, be resourceful and then remember what got you to where you’re at in life.

Now, I’m going to go and see if I can be an actor in the next hostage movie…maybe called “Die Blog” or “Live Blog Die Hard.”

Let go of what is holding you hostage (in other words, YOU are holding YOU hostage and YOU have the power to let it go).

Peace!

Setema

P.S. When it comes to my sites-I will never let this happen again. I have switched all my sites over to my own server. No more letting others ever have opportunity to hold my sites hostage!

Powerful training today with Mark Wyckoff! What are your thoughts on what you learned?

Post here and I’ll post the video up here shortly for all those who would like to watch it again!

Thank you Mark.

P.S. In 30 days I will be down to 265 lbs. My action items are rather simple-eating on point, exercise 6 times a week, visualize it, see it, be it, talk it, share it, pray it, DO IT!

Post your comments here on what you learned from the training.

A friend of mine asked “What books have changed your life?”

So here it is…

I understand clearly her question in context.

The truth is…books, things, jobs, situations, catastrophe, war…they don’t change our lives…

WE CHANGE OUR LIVES by the action we take, by the knowledge we internalize, by the we way choose to react to everything that happens to us.

“It’s not what happens to us that matters…it’s what happens within us that makes the difference.”

I’ve known many people who have suffered great loss and come out of it a better and stronger person for it.

I’ve also known many people who have suffered great loss and come out of the situation with a harder heart, greater bitterness and a more embedded victim-hood mentality.

So in context…these are the books that have have a profound and transforming effect on my life! Many are spiritual and religious. Many are business and personal-growth related.

Thanks Sandi for asking. The Red Font titles are the ones I’ve read in the past year.

1. The Book of Mormon-the most powerful on m life and I have read it like 100 times or so. I still discover pearls of wisdom in it when I read it.

This doesn't include books in storage, ebooks and eprograms! Learning and applying is powerful! If you want to become something or someone...learn what they know and act like they act.

2. The Bible

3. Think and Grow Rich

4. Rich Dad Poor Dad-My first financial book that transformed everything for me-2003-read it in 3 days in Alabama.

5. Failing Forward

6. Good to Great

7. Man’s Search For Meaning

8. Cashflow Quadrant

9. Men of Valor

10. Purpose Driven Life

11. Peacegiver

12. The Miracle of Forgivness

13. Driven From Within (Michael Jordan)-sick book

14. Screw It Let’s Do It-Richard Branson-

15. Uncommon-Tony Dungy

16. The Alchemist -Just finished this one -awesome stuff

17. Permission Marketing-Just finished this

I love me some books...

18. Tribes

19. Crush It-Just barely finished this

20. L.E.A.P.

21. How To Win Friends and Influence People

22. The Game of Work

23. Strengths Finder 2.0

24. Execution-The Art of Getting Things Done

25. 7 Habits of Highly Effective People-read this in 1995 and still remember it like yesterday

26. Teaching By the Spirit-

27. Accidental Guru

28. Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

29. Remembering Wholeness

30. Jackrabbit Factor

31. Hidden Treasures

32. The Work and the Glory

33. The Master Key to Riches

34. Atlas Shrugged-still working on this bad boy-it’s powerful content for sure

35. Getting in the Gap

36. Peace, Happiness and Joy

37. Outliers

38. It’s Not About the Bike-really helped me after the NFL

39. The Laws of Lifetime Growth

40. Missed Fortune

41.  Lectures on Faith

42. In the Eye of the Storm-1996 when I read it…couldn’t put it down-I served a mission just like him.

43. How to Become a Total Failure

44. The Power of Focus

There are more books that are in bins. This is the list of books that I have sitting on the shelves in the office.

I’ve read more books since graduating from college than I did my whole life up to that point.

I love to learn and I love to apply what I learn so that I may see the results of my life!

I have a ton of eBooks that I have not included on this list either.

WHY DO I LOVE TO READ, LEARN AND STUDY?

Because I want somethings in life that require knowledge, skill, understanding…when it comes down to it…the things I want so badly require me to be a different person.

How do I become that person? Through learning and taking action.

Learning does NO GOOD if I continue to believe, think and behave the same way as I did before I read the book or watched the program or took the course.

How bad do you want whatever it is that you want?

There certainly is a price to pay for it. I usually buy one or two books a month. I usually read 3 or 4 books at the same time and finish them simultaneously.

I finished The Alchemis, Crush It and Tibes almost within 2 weeks of each other.

It’s how I started reading because I love books so I have books in the bathroom, books by my sink so when I brush my teeth I read.

“I carry books with me so when I am in line, or in traffic or waiting on an appointment I can read.

I study scriptures and Holy Writ daily.

Garbage in…Garbage out.

Power in…More Power out!

I stopped watching T.V. about a year ago. I mean I watch…but it’s intentional. I watch 2 shows with my wife and we record them so there’s no commercials and wasted time.

LEVERAGE on TNT and LIE TO ME on FOX. Occasionally I’ll catch some American Idol with her but the time I watch T.V. is NEVER EVER EVER EVER mindless channel flipping. I’ll never sit and watch mindless endless T.V. There’s always something educational or purposeful about it.

I watch a full football game (which is rare) in like 45 minutes. No commercials, play to play, no half-time and then I move on with my day.

Depending on what you want, how bad you want it and why you want it…there will be no time for some of the things MOST people do.

  • video games
  • watching lots of TV
  • surfing the net without purpose
  • watching lots of Youtube video to be entertained
  • camping on Facebook or twitter
  • being lazy and idle
  • doing only the easy things in life without purpose and vision
  • solitaire
  • Warcraft

Not that there is anything inherently wrong with some of these things…but what are the results of doing all of these

If winning one of these was your goal...what would your daily beliefs, thoughts and ACTIONS be? There wouldn't be time for the ridiculous things most people 'fill' their time with today.

things?

Certainly not the results (goals) that I want in my life.

My current and life goal is to be an international life changer to inspire people to become the GREATEST VERSION of who they were created to be so they can in turn help everyone in this world they were supposed to help while they were alive as well as long after they pass away.

Playing video games, watching garbage on T.V. and wasting time…that certainly won’t get me there.

But if you don’t have goals…well, any action during the day will do just fine.

So what is YOUR Super Bowl Ring…your goal that you are daily working towards?

If you’re wandering through life aimlessly without purpose and goals and a vision of who you want to be and what you want to be…it’s not too late.

But consider this…

What is the real danger of you having no goals, end in mind, destination or vision for your life?

Pause…think about it…

What is the danger for your children and their children?

Pause…think about it…

What is the danger for those around you?

Pause…think about it…

It’s scary if you really think about it.

January is almost half way done and 99% of the people alive are still sleep walking and going through mundane motions.

Living is NOT going through the motions. I call that being a zombie.

Living is waking up each day with passion and purpose.

Living is being excited about the day ahead of you.

Living is knowing that you are doing something that is contributing to your family, your community…the world.

Living is giving life, love and happiness to others.

Living is doing what you love to do with passion and enthusiasm.

Living is enjoy the journey.

Living is growing!

Living is overcoming fears, doubts, obstacles and challenges!

What are your goals, visions and dreams? Your answer to this question will in part determine what you do daily?

What books have transformed your life?

I’d love to work with you. I put on free seminars to help people break the status quo of their current life. I’d love to meet you and continue to help you.

Thanks again Sandi for asking the question…

Long answer but hope it helps.

Would you like the responsibility of celebrity status?

Would you like the responsibility of celebrity status?

I was in the locker room at the gym after an intense workout and playing on the TV was more coverage about Tiger Woods and his car wreck and the scandals of cheating etc.

Someone next to me probably trying to strike up a conversation said this to me “I would hate to be famous.” I asked him why and he said “So I wouldn’t have all that stuff happen to me.”

WHAT DRUGS IS THIS GUY TAKING?

Here is someone watching Tiger Woods and all the media on him and he thinks it would suck to be famous.

Hmmm…Maybe this guy in the gym (let’s call him Bob for now), Bob, doesn’t realize how much good someone ‘famous’ can do. Maybe Bob doesn’t realize that ‘famous people’ do a lot of good.

Money is a RESULT! Result of what? It is a result of providing valuable services and products to people who want them. Money is the result of solving people’s problems and getting paid to do it. Fame is also a result of similar things. So being famous means you have either done a lot of bad, but usually it means you have done a tremendous amount of good in the world.

So let’s look at Tiger. Has he made some mistakes…yes. Do we all make mistakes….Yes! Has Tiger done some good in the world….YES. Do you think he’s done as much good if not more than Bob in the gym…obviously YES!!!!

Which leads me to the point. Saying something as foolish, ignorant and stupid as “I would hate to be famous” shows me a few things.

1. Bob’s paradigm is set for low success and mediocrity

By him uttering the words “I would hate to be famous because I wouldn’t want all that type of attention on me and my family” shows and tells me that he likes to play small. How does playing small in the world help other people? How does playing small help other people, or help the community. IT DOESN’T! Playing small helps nobody! It doesn’t even help the competition because good competition helps to stimulate one to become his or her very best! Therefore all the competition in the world only helps YOU to be your BEST and what the world needs is YOU to be YOUR BEST!

Unless Bob changes his paradigm about what success, fame, fortune and money his life is doomed to mediocrity and quiet desperation. Unless Bob changes his paradigm about being ‘famous’…his life is in trouble. You don’t have to be famous Bob, but you do have to be your BEST and you never know, you just might be famous and you just might help an enormous amount of people!

2.  Bob is very selfish

How in the world do you expect to help people out if you only think about yourself? Truth is that you don’t help too many people when you are only focused on what you want.

People who are ‘famous’ have opportunities to help people in tremendous ways. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet…very FAMOUS people and huge Creators who contribute, and make the world a better place. How can you contribute with empty pockets?

To not want to be famous because reporters might be at your house…are you freaking kidding me Bob? Quit being selfish. Discover your talents and abilities and gifts and maximize them to create value in the world today. Maximize them to build a better community. Maximize them to create value period! Playing small sucks! Playing small is selfish. Playing small is destructive. Yep, I said it. And please don’t get ‘humility’ and playing small mixed up. They DO NOT mean the same thing at all. In fact, humility has nothing to do with playing small. That’s for another blog though.

3. The Majority Today Live Like Bob

I wouldn’t want more money or success or to be ‘famous’ because look at all the crap celebrities and athletes and movie stars and rich people go through. Look my friend, whether you have money, fame or you don’t, you’re going to go through crap. Life has a way of testing and trying us. It just does and no one is an exception to this rule. Having an abundance of money doesn’t exclude you from the trials of life.

If you cheat on your spouse because you have a lot of money, I guarantee you would cheat on your spouse PERIOD whether you have money or not.

If you are a kind giving person with no money, then money just allows you to give a heck of a lot more.

So is it bad to be famous? Of course not!

Yes Bob, look at the Foundations and Charities wealthy people contribute to. Look at the poor people in Africa they help. Look at the scholarship they provide. Look at the buildings the build to educate students. Look at the research on cancer they contribute to. Look at the lives they change and affect. Look at the kids and adults they inspire. The list is endless…Yes, Bob, I would hate to be ‘famous.’ (I’m being completely sarcastic)

Words Are Powerful…They Reveal Our Inner Thoughts

Take a good look at the words you use and what you say and how you say it. Are you saying ridiculous things like Bob at

Would you seriously not want to live in a home this size because it would take too long to shovel the snow or too long to clean?

Would you seriously not want to live in a home this size because it would take too long to shovel the snow or too long to clean? If those are your reasons...you're in trouble.

the gym?

Do you say things like…

“I wouldn’t want a big house because look how long it would take to clean.”

“I wouldn’t want a big driveway and lots cars…too much snow shoveling and the insurance and payments must be horrendous.”

“I don’t need an extravagant lifestyle….I am happy with where I am at.”

“Being rich is only for some people…I could never be rich and famous.”

“I don’t think it’s possible to do what I love to do and get paid to do it.”

If you say things like this you need to CHECK YOURSELF! What type of paradigm are you living by? What beliefs are you subscribing to right now?

I guarantee if you think like Bob your life right now is way below the potential line! If you say things like the statements above then your belief system (your paradigms) are ROBBING YOU AND KEEPING YOU POOR, BROKE AND UNHAPPY!

The last line UNHAPPY is the KEY. For a Creator, happiness is the ultimate ambition! For Destroyers money and things are the ultimate ambition.

So What’s Next?

Look at the results of your life today….if you are completely in love with your life and the results…then keep doing what you are doing.

If you want change and different results…comment and I will tell you EXACTLY HOW YOU CREATE A LIFE YOU CAN LIVE THAT IS ENTIRELY ON YOUR OWN TERMS!

Life is too short to live in poverty, mediocrity and in fear!

You can do it and if you don’t think you can…then you know darn well you’re in trouble and need the shift in your thinking!

My whole house and home and personal belongings...yes...went on sale. It's called Liquidation.

My whole house and home and personal belongings...yes...went on sale. It's called Liquidation.

One moment I have nearly

half a million dollars worth of

cars in my garage.

One moment I have flat screens, plasma screens and DLP tvs in my home.

One moment I have a Gold AMEX card that has no pre-set spending limit and over 600,000 points to use.

One moment I can by breakfast for all my youth group, I can donate to charities, church and scholarships…I can travel and buy almost anything I wants…One moment money is no issue whatsoever…staying at any hotel on the top floors…

And then one moment I literally have

no money and am trying to figure out

how to pay bills and keep the electricity on.

It’s bad enough that I am embarrassed because one moment I am talking about how abundant and good life is. I am speaking across the country about how to become wealthy and how to grow your assets…its bad enough that I am humiliated because as people ask me where my Benz is, or where the Denali is, or where the Escalade is I have no definite answer…

So how did we get through it all and get to where we are now? During the foreclosures and the repossession of cars this is what happened.

I could spend hours writing and telling about it. In fact I will do that in my next book that I write. I have one book down called MoneyBoxSystems and more to come.

One of my goals is to have a legitimate #1 New York Times Best Seller by December 2010. So yes I have my work cut

Sold the all-time favorite Luv Sac...it was a wedding gift from my good friend and brother Martin. It is in my niece's home now. A Creator Utilizes what is...

Sold the all-time favorite Luv Sac...it was a wedding gift from my good friend and brother Martin. It is in my niece's home now. A Creator Utilizes what is...

out for me. For a Creator once the commitment has been made…it’s OVER, SAID AND DONE! So #1 list…here I come.

According to the Encarta Dictionary Liquidation means to pay debt, shut down business, cash in assets or to kill somebody

In my case it meant…sell anything of value to put food on the table because 1-the mortgage and real estate industry hit me hard when it imploded and 2-I wasn’t prepared for what happened.

Believe me when I say I will be prepared.

Liquidating To Survive

So I began liquidating what I owned. First it was the Samsung 65 inch DLP that we had watched T.V. on, home videos and seasons of Smallville. I threw in the stand, the sound system and the DVD player.

Next went the Samsung 42 inch Plasma. Then the Sony 42 inch LCD with the heavy duty wall mounts.

Sold our crib to a family who just moved into state.

Sold our crib to a family who just moved into state.

I let go of my Korg Triton (the Lamborgini of Keyboards, or in my case, the Mercedes of Keyboards). I purchased this for $3k. This is what the big boys use in the studios and in the performances you see on the Grammys or MTV Video awards. I sold it for $1500 on ebay to a church in Tennessee. Right now a church is using my keyboard and they got it for a steal of a deal. I am happy it is being put to good use and for a great purpose.

I sold my Takamine guitar to a young boy who found me on KSL. I was grateful that he bought it. He had a disease so I felt much better about letting him live his life out with my Takamine.

The Ikea Queen...what a beautiful and awesome bed she was. I made sure I got everything out of my trip to California. You either build pipes or haul buckets. I choose to build pipes and do whatever it takes to build them. A recently divorced man has this bed in his apartment.

I could go on and on about what I sold but my point is this…when you need something, THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY. Tables, beds, pictures, jewelry etc. Yes, I call it liquidation but it can also be called:

    • Simplification
  • Humbling
  • Being stripped
  • Being born again
  • Learning divine lessons
  • Giving others a great deal

When I write my next book I’ll describe in detail how the LIQUIDATION part of my Defining and Refining Years was indeed just that…defining and refining.

I paid cash for everything when I bought it and now it was coming in handy to liquidate everything so I could have cash. I almost sold my fridge and I would have bought a cheaper fridge.

My question to you is this…Are there things in your life that you need to get rid of? What can you strip yourself of and get rid of to make your life more simpler? If you are broke have you thought about liquidating and simplifying?

Our first bed became our guest bed...sold.

Our first bed became our guest bed...sold. I went to California to a workshop to further my business. There is always a way...always!

Just recently I sold two beds to get down to a workshop. Yep, I wanted to attend a workshop in San Diego that would further my business and my ability to create and produce so I sold my queen size Ikea bed and my King Size guest bed.

I sure loved those beds but someone else needed them more than me because I wanted the funds to get to California. I drove to California and then maximized the trip and the workshop because I knew I sacrificed a lot to be there.

There is nothing embarrassing about this right now.  At first I felt like a FAILURE. At first I was ashamed. But now, I am GRATEFUL for how my life is being shaped. It’s never what happens to us, always what happens inside of us.

What great lessons I am learning through all of this!

One lesson I have learned is that when I want to buy anything from now on I will always go and look on Craigslist or KSL or on eBay. I have sold something on each of those services and people got great deals, like 50% off.

It’s just a matter of time before I have my multi-million dollar empire again (as a result of creating real value and helping people) and of course the whole purpose of having money in today’s world is to utilize it to create more value and to help more people and to give back.

My keyboard...is in Tennessee being used by a church. Thanks ebay.

My keyboard...is in Tennessee being used by a church. Thanks ebay.

Money is result and also a tool. I want that empire not just for lifestyle but mainly for CONTRIBUTION. I know what it is like to be on the side that can donate generously.  That’s what it is all about right? Using what you have to benefit other people.

We can have and live the life we commit to. Prosperity is NEVER by chance or accident. NEVER!

So what are you committed to?

If your intention is just to get by…well my friend…that is exactly what you are going to get…you’ll get by. If you could have whatever you chose to go after and pay the price for…what would you go after?

I’ve been stripped down to some bare necessities and will give it all up if that is what I must do.

Through all of this I have been developing the mindset of the Creator…an UNSTOPPABLE Belief System…a bullet proof mentality…the heart of a champion. My action muscles and commitment muscles are stronger than ever. There is something about adversity.

You either get weak and succumb or you get up and fight. You get up and work. You get up and build and rebuild and persist. “I will persist until I succeed.”

I truly believe we can create profitable businesses in today’s market because of that thing called…the Internet. That too is another story. By the way, I am building that profitable business this very moment.

I am happy. I am grateful. I will not be stopped.

I am the man who loves his life.

TO BE CONTINUED…

P.S. I’ve had people tell me that I shouldn’t write about this right now. My response is WHY NOT? Should I pretend that life is amazing and that I am the perfect businessman who has all the answers? Life is amazing indeed…

I am building a business…just like Trump, just like Kiyosaki…just like Gates in his garage…just Ford…just like Vaynerchuk…just like Dillard in Texas…just like Roundy in Utah and just like every other Creator out there who did what it took to build their dreams and to create and add value to the lives of others REGARDLESS OF CIRCUMSTANCE AND REGARDLESS OF SITUATION!

“…to dwell on circumstances and situations as they are only leads to doubt and worry.”

“Faith is the knowledge of things that are true which are not seen.”

Walt Disney saw Disney World before it was ever built. I too see the company I am building and it will literally change hundreds and thousands and millions of lives.

One of the rides I bought...for my wife...smoothest ride. I surprised her with a red ribbon.

Just over a year ago I gave up my final car. I went from 6 cars on my credit to zero cars in the garage. The REPO game beat me. Let me explain…

It was 2006 and I had made the real estate  millions. I’ve always been a goal setter and a goal getter. I had set goals and I had reached them.

What a year! Money was no issue at all. My wife and I would travel and never worry about money. We would stay in the Venetian or Bellagio in Vegas. We flew first class (on our credit card points) and I had a nice car collection going as well as a nice real estate portfolio.

I attended a seminar and was pretty convinced that I should buy a nice car. Yes, every single human being buys into a set of beliefs and philosophies. Some are useful and some are helpful. Some must be in the right context or you’ll be in

I bought one of the first 50 off the assembly line. I had the first one in Utah. 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds. All the seats had massage. It was fun...until the repo guy took it. Lessons learned though.

trouble.

My question to you is WHAT BELIEFS AND PHILOSOPHIES HAVE YOU BOUGHT INTO?

What beliefs and philosophies have you bought into and that you are holding onto right now?

It was September of 2006. I set a goal to create enough passive income to pay for my dream car. I had always wanted  this car. It was the Mercedes Benz S65 AMG. Pricetag…$200k. Yep, enough to buy a home. 30 days later I bought it. I put a large chunk of cash down and drove off in this unreal vehicle.

I bought my wife a 2008 Range Rover SuperCharged HSE before I bought my car though. I would set the goal, figure it out and then get it.

Price tag for the Range…$90k. Yep, very expensive and to this date the smoothest ride I have ever driven.

Nov 08-Dec 08 Moving and Games 001

I was vaccuming this truck out before the repo guy got it. A lot of CARS and GAME PLAN watched in here. Two trips to Cali and many trips to Vegas. This was the final car taken.

Several months later I bought an Escalade EXT. I loaded it up. Dropped it, slapped 24 inch rims on there ($6k), put a Strut Grill on there ($6k) and covered the interior with Suede headliner.  Oh yeah, I also had two fat 11 inch monitors in the head rests. (what was I thinking? Good lessons learned)

I also had six homes on my credit because I was buying and selling real estate frequently at this time. I also had a lot of hard money deals that I had brokered.

I had my own little banking system going. I lent out over $350k of my own money and made it all back with interest. As many financial gurus say “You’re either earning interest or you’re paying it.” At this time I was making a lot of it.

Then in the spring of 2007 I received a phone call from one of my investment guys and the whole thing collapsed. Half of my income was gone.

A month later I received another call and the news almost gave me a heart attack. Between the two investments I lost over $750k of mine and other people’s money. Yes, $750k.

I thought to myself “I can still do mortgages and real estate.” So I went back to my bread and butter of real estate and mortgages. I had investors and I was ready to become the real estate tycoon I once was before I got lazy from investments. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

It was at this time that the mortgage industry began to implode. All my systems and models of money were built on the ability to buy and sell quickly. My model of business was built on the ability of everyone else to be able to buy or sell quickly. I wasn’t ready for what was going to happen.

I was aggressive. I bought into different philosophies about leveraging everything you have. I bought into philosophies that weren’t quite congruent with my inner beliefs but I needed to learn some things that hard way for that is probably the only way I would have learned it. A great question to ask yourself often is “Is what I am doing working?”

I found myself very humbled. I prayed more than I had ever prayed. There were many times that I felt so alone that I God would give me assurances that He was there. No matter how long or hard the road, God is always there.

I found myself very humbled. I prayed more than I had ever prayed. There were many times that I felt so alone that I God would give me assurances that He was there. No matter how long or hard the road, God is always there.

My credit was clean and immaculate. I had used my credit for many things.

By the time 2007 ended, I had lost, been defrauded, been ripped off and had stolen from me over a million dollars of my own and other people’s money (close family and friends who chose to invest with me in my businesses.)

This was one of the most challenging times in my life.

I was forced to be humble. I was praying, studying, fasting and doing everything I knew that I could to have God’s help to prevent everything from happening but things continued to spiral downwards.

I ended up giving all the cars back even though I spent so much money on down payments and payments. It’s called REPOSESSION!

Every home I owned was so upside down I was unable to sell and the foreclosure process began on each one. I tried short-sales but I was so discouraged, depressed and humiliated at the time I was as unproductive as anyone ever was.

By the time 2008 rolled around I had no cars and no homes. I was embarrassed. I was humiliated. I was angry. I was upset. Not at anyone but me. I chose to take responsibility and not blame others even though they straight lied to my face. Partners walked away from me (even though they were 50/50 from the start with me.)

Through all of this God’s hand was clearly in my life even though it was challenging. I was fasting weekly, attending the temple weekly, praying and pleading with the Lord.

It was bad enough that I made bad choices that affected me, but the family and friends and partners who trusted me with their money for business…I was unable to sleep at night. I was so depressed and discouraged. The craziest thoughts come to your mind when everything around you is crumbling.

How do I support my wife and my son?

How do I pay the bills?

Which bills do we completely ignore and which do we pay?

How are we going to put gas in the car?

How are we going to eat?

Earlier I had an average six-figure balance in my bank accounts for nearly 18 months. It’s funny how things can change so fast.

“Be still and know that I am God” was a scripture that stayed in my mind and in my heart.

It was very humiliating to go from driving the cars I had and always being the one to pick up the tab or the one to donate funds or the one to taking care of the sub for santas to being the person on the other side of the table.

What would other people think about me? Would they make fun of me? Would they call me a failure?

One of our family vacations in 2007 before my financial world came to a suddent halt.

One of our family vacations in 2007 before my financial world came to a suddent halt.

Having all the homes foreclose and the cars repossessed was another valuable and important step in my becoming the man God would have me become. I was humbled and it is only when we are humble that we can be led and taught.

I was given the opportunity to know what it was like to have a family and to not have income. I was given the opportunity to feel what poor or broke people feel.

I was very foolish at times when I had an abundance of resources. When you have lots of money in the bank and you’re driving expensive cars and making lots of money, you have a tendency to tell people things like “Come on, live in abundance, read this book, change your life…it’s that easy”

In these type of statements were pride, arrogance and a lack of love and empathy.

Having been on this side now (broke, no income and humiliated) I understand completely and much better that there is something called depression and discouragement. It’s so hard to get out of bed in the morning when you have no hope or no sight of things to come.

I thought I was humble and understanding when I was driving my $200k car but there was definitely some self-deception there and thankfully God knows when to give me tough love and divine tutoring.

Have you bought into philosophies that are not useful?

Are you deceiving yourself into thinking you’re humble and you’re really not?

Can you recognize God’s hand in your life and do you allow Him to mold and shape you?

Like clay in a the master’s hand, the only way he can mold it is if the clay is SOFT. If the clay turns hard there is a brutal process that the clay must go through in order to be fashioned.

Soft humble hearts is what one must have to overcome and learn from the challenges of life.

By November 2008 I lost all my cars and my six homes around the country.

This was the relocation and repossession part of my refining years.

Not only did we relocate, my heart was relocated to a more humble state of being. No only were my physical belongings repossessed, my materialistic natural man inside of me was taken which allowed a greater awakening inside of me to become the Life-Changer that I have always wanted to become.

"The most important things in the world are not things" Although I lost the cars....I gained stronger faith. Faith in God, faith in me, faith in people, faith in family. My new rule is to buy cars with CASH. My car that I own now...yep, paid in full...

I picked this car up in Vegas. What a beauty. "The most important things in the world are not things" Although I lost the cars....I gained stronger faith. Faith in God, faith in me, faith in people, faith in family. My new rule is to buy cars with CASH. My car that I own now...yep, paid in full...I lost this truck...but I gained so much more...more than I ever would have imagined.

To be continued….

P.S. It’s not what happens to us in life, it’s what happens INSIDE OF US that matters and we choose to be led by God or we can choose to wander in darkness by ourselves. I am grateful my wife kept me close and focused.

This was one of the most depressing times in my life. We went from Riches to Rags and it was very painful. I am happy and if I had to do it all over again…I would go through it again.

P.S.S. I used to say “I would never wish this upon anyone.” Well, I changed my mind. The past couple years have given me incredible perspective and have helped me to develop a trust in God that might not have come in another fashion.

P.S.S.S. I even changed my phone number because I was getting like 50 phone calls a day from creditors. Yes, I have felt and seen much of a side I had never experienced. It’s hard to have empathy for people who go through this if you have never gone through this.

Thank you Lord for teaching me and giving me an opportunity to know how to better help my brothers and sisters around the world.
